3 DECADES OF RESEARCH

BIOSUPERFOOD formulas are the culmination of three decades of intensive work by a pioneer in biotechnology, award-winning Russian scientist and professor Michael Kiriac, now living in Canada, where BIOSUPERFOOD is made under his authority, supervision and strict quality controls.

In his early years, Dr. Kiriac was tasked by the demanding Soviet empire to discover nutritional ways to improve production of poultry and livestock. Instead of relying on supplementation with dangerous hormones, chemicals and antibiotics, Dr. Kiriac turned to nature’s wealth and researched the embryonic field of microalgae for answers. Soon, the animals were growing larger, living up to 20% longer, in better health, and with more lean muscle and less fat, all from carefully composed algae added to their diet.

After losing five members of his immediate family to pancreatic cancer due to family genetics, Dr. Kiriac oriented his research and application of blended microalgae to humans. By 1986, when the Chernobyl disaster struck, Dr. Kiriac was ready to help people with his formulas.

SPIRULINA PACIFICA MICROALGAE

For its large protein and mineral values – The Spirulina Pacifica microalgae belongs to the blue-green algae family. Invisible to the naked eye, it is one of the most nutritious unicellular food on earth that grows naturally in oceans and salty lakes in subtropical climates. Its protein content, with all essential and most non-essential amino acids makes up about 65% of its dry weight – much greater than that of beef. Spirulina Pacifica is a rich source of vitamins A, B, C, D3, E, K, of thousands of enzymes, of over 60 minerals and trace elements, and a large portion of chlorophyll. Spirulina Pacifica is a rare source of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) – an essential fatty acid necessary for tissue growth and regeneration. Due to its fully digestible soft lipid polysaccharide cell wall membrane, all its nutrients are fully assimilated, absorbed and utilized by the cells of our body.

For its complimentary protein and mineral values – The Spirulina Platensis microalgae, also of the blue-green family, closely resemble its cousin Pacifica. It grows from alkaline brackish and saline waters in tropical and subtropical regions and, like the Pacifica, its high protein content includes all essential and most non-essential amino acids. Platensis is a rich source of vitamins A, B, E, D3, K, and of thousands of enzymes, dozens of minerals and trace elements and is rich in chlorophyll. Like Pacifica, Platensis is another best source of essential fatty acids including Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), nutrients that are necessary for tissue regeneration and growth, and its nutrients are fully assimilated, absorbed and utilized by the cells of our body. When blended together, Platensis and Pacifica offer the entire family of amino acids and more minerals/ trace elements, vitamins, fatty acids and enzymes than any other food on earth.

DUNALIELLA SALINA MICROALGAE

For its extraordinary natural level of vitamin C, and its rich mix of carotenoids – Dunaliella Salina, is a single cell, salt-water microalgae that under appropriate growth conditions can accumulate large amounts of beta-carotene. Dunaliella contains other carotenoids such as alpha carotene and xanthophylls like zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin and lutein, and for this reason is nicknamed “the queen of carotenoids”. It also accumulates very high concentrations of glycerol. High concentrations of beta-carotene and glycerol in Dunaliella Salina offer protection from the saline conditions and osmotic pressure of the environment where it grows while it delivers similar protection support to the consumer. The natural mixed carotenoids found in Dunaliella Salina are nature’s most efficient cellular energy and antioxidation agents.

HAEMATOCOCCUS PLUVIALIS MICROALGAE

For its high astaxanthin content – The astaxanthin in our formulas occurs with Haematococcus Pluvialis, the world’s greatest source of astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is a natural carotenoid pigment nicknamed “the king of carotenoids” because of its extraordinary antioxidation support efficiency. The BIOSUPERFOOD (BSF) and BIOPREPARATION (BP) formulas are certified by Health Canada under the Natural Product certification program for purity, content and quality. Health Canada imposes inspection of manufacturing facilities, and mandates that EACH lot be analyzed for herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals and other pollutants to guarantee safety.
The formulas BSF and BP come in vegetable capsules that are easy to swallow and practical to take at regular intervals throughout the day. The two-part capsule can be twisted open to get to the powder inside. It can easily be mix with the pet food. Some people like to mix the powder in juice, water or in a smoothie. Some people like the natural taste of algae and they let it dissolve slowly in their mouths or sublingually.
BSF BP are not a medicine or remedy. It is considered a nutritional support to wellness. If you have any concerns regarding your that of your pet’s health or a specific medical condition it is always best to consult with your healthcare professional prior to consuming it.
The BIOSUPERFOOD formulas are specifically designed for humans, though, as with other earthly foods, our animal companions can also consume them. The BIOSUPERFOOD formulas have the same nutritional makeup as the BIOPREPARATION formulas, except that they are freeze dried at a less cold temperature in order to achieve a slightly coarser powder. This was done to adjust uptake assimilation for humans as we have long digestive tracts, unlike dogs and cats that have very short digestive tracts.

The algae used in the BIOPREPARATION formulas are freeze dried at a colder temperature than those used in the BIOSUPERFOOD formulas in order to achieve a slightly finer powder. The difference in coarseness of the powder increases uptake assimilation for animals that have a shorter digestive tracts, like dogs and cats.
There are no known contraindications for consuming BSF with any food, supplement or drug.
When taken daily, even a pinch with pets, or one capsule with humans will provide health benefits above and beyond any vitamin or mineral supplement. Most people or pet owner find that they can eliminate most other supplements, feel much better, and save money too! Consuming BSF or BP is a holistic approach to optimal nourishment to derive whole body benefits on the cellular level, which include energy, detoxification, growth, repair, protection, and renewal.

The algae are organically grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones or any additives.
BSF and BP enters the body and results can be observed through blood tests or other means to show positive effects within minutes. BSF is a blend of four microalgae that are each a whole food in themselves…so the combination formula is the most complete food we know to exist, with estimates of over 15,000 micronutrients contained in one capsule. There are many more bioavailable nutrients in BSF than one would find in “cherry-picking” – trying to achieve the same results with individual supplements! The four microalgae in each of the BSF formulas are Spirulina Pacifica, Spirulina Platensis, Dunaliella Salina and Astaxanthin from Haematococcus Pluvialis. These microalgae were selected from amongst hundreds for their unique compatibility and synergy and are carefully grown and blended for maximum results.
The capsule’s two parts can be gently twisted open over a bowl or glass or directly into the mouth. After the desired amount of powder content is poured out, you can reseal the capsule for later use (if using only a portion at a time). Make sure hands are dry and you’ll get the hang of it! The contents of the capsules can be mixed with water, juice, smoothie or soft foods like applesauce, yogurt, (your pets’ wet food) etc.
There are three BIOSUPERFOOD (BSF) formulas (F1k F2k and F3k), each containing different proportions of the same four microalgae, resulting in slightly different concentrations of nutrients in each formula.

BIOPREPARATION (BP) is identical to BSF except for in the freeze-drying process. The algae for BP formulas has been freeze-dried at a colder temperature to yield a finer powder particle which is ideally suited to the shorter digestive tracts of our dogs & cats.
